Long story short I have vrsf fmic and I'm getting either a big 16g a evo3 16g or a MHI 20g.. I know I need a vrsf j pipe since it goes a different way.. But will the one on their site for 65$ fit all of those turbos?

It depends if your 20g comes with a down firing compressor cover it won't work.

When you say will it fit do you mean the flange being correct? If so the flange should be the same for both turbo's.

I mean will the j pipe just bolt up without modification?

Honestly not sure if I went 20g I'll probably just get a 16g converted to a 20g hahha

I would not get a J-pipe from vrsf, unless they changed their design since i purchased mine last year. it is at a stupid angle making one of the bolts almost inaccessible.

How does one find/make a j pipe then? Any suggestions?

Would also like to find out if it's possible to make a temporary j pipe for my t25 turbo and vrsf fmic.. I don't plan on having it more than a month I'm upgrading to probably a 16 or 20g

No j-pipe is needed to run a t25 along with a fmic, the only time a j-pipe is needed is with a 14b/16g/18g.

I actually ended up getting one 180 degree coupler and one 90 degree coupler and a straight pipe long enough to fit between the turbo outlet and ic inlet. This was on evo 8 ic so it should be more or less the same looking at the vrsf kit.

If you do make a your own be sure to get the straight pipe beaded or rolled, if not every time you go into boost you"ll blow it off. Wich is definelty not fun fixing on the side of the road.

By rolled I'm assuming you mean the tips so the clamps won't slip off? And what type of pipe did you use and I assume same size a IC piping?

Exactly what i meant by rolled..LOL, and yea the pipe I used was just cheap aluminum tubing the same size as the ic inlet. I beleive its either 2 or 2 1/4.

Its definetly not the best or shortest route possible, but at least you can use your vrsf kit for now. At least till your upgraded turbo comes in to play and like mentioned if its either 14b/16g/18g you could get the proper j pipe for shortest route possible.

Okay thanks for the help haha motor swap and all new inter cooler and other goodies come spring break so we will see how it goes! Thanks again

Oh before I forget if I go 20g route how does one correctly connect it then. That one thing I've never looked into is inter cooler piping LOL

If you get a 20g that fires down you just use the rubber coupling that come with the kit and it'll go straight into the pipe that leads to the intercooler. As for running the VRSF kit with the t25 I don't recommend it, I did it for a while and it was a huge pain. Doing that is actually the reason I upgraded turbos sooner than I had planned.

That's my hope maybe I'll stick with my eBay one for now then again the guy before me has PVC fittings and random hoses holding it together LOL

So I am also getting the vrsf ic kit and plan to upgrade to a 20g... Which 20g wouldn't need the pipe? Because I know I need one for my 14b but I'm trying to decide if I should get it

If its down firing like the pic in the 3rd post it doesn't need a j-pipe , if it points up and has a flange on it like a 14b than it would need a j-pipe.

I would find another brand J pipe in my opinion, I know there has been loads of good reviews but the J pipe I got from VRSF,
had crappy welds on the flange,
their was a leak at the flange that I had to get rewelded
I had to cut the pipe and reweld it since it was welded angled in towards the turbo making a coolant line impossible to fit on the turbo.
The Bung welded into the flange pointed directly at the turbo and made it impossible to even put on a nipple for the MBC line, so I had to have another bung welded in.

I was really disappointed with the 55$ J pipe I bought from them, I did all this FAB work just to make it work, and I had to spend another 30$ on top of it for all the welding crap. I would personally look for another brand. I just hope the rest of their FMIC kit doesn't suck as much as their J pipes did,

Or maybe I just got the bad batch so keep that in mind too.

Ugh LOL I'll have to figure out something for now then

i ran this setup before and i just used a standard down facing jpipe and it worked perfect only thing i had a problem with was it was a 2.5 coupler with the kit and the jpipe was only a 2 inch so had to buy a coupler no big deal its a pretty easy install for everything

Well motor goes in next week I'll have to figure it all out then can't be to hard hahaha

yup pretty easy to install the setup took me like 3 hours to do from start to finish

if you need couplers or tbolt clamps check out a site called frozenboost.com its a great site for that stuff super cheap

the jpipe in the kit is just like the one i used i bought my core used and didnt have pipes so i had to just kinda make stuff work i had from my old fmic kit but still easy job
