ive got a tb problem

i bought a 1g tb for my 2g it just came in but it appears to be broken. The part actually casted to the throttle body by where the cable latches onto appears to be broke it looks like there was something that mounted there and touched the plate where the cable latches onto. i need to know what this is and if i need it. sorry i dont have a camera and tried to explain as best as i could.

Three is the closed throttle position (idle) switch. Four is the adjusting nut. Both are available from the dealer.

well the casting to hold it is broke off and that is nessecary isnt it?

So the switch can't be screwed in? Sounds like the TB is junk now.

thanks for the input and that is what i thought it was i bought it off the classifieds on here and he said all sensors and ready to be bolted up to a 2g and i bought it and now it is broke with not even the broken part in the box it came with so i know it had to have been broken before he shipped it.

I didn't realize it was broken. I used it with out problems.

Never the less I will replace the TB. Just pull off the 2g TPS and I'll send out a new one.

I don't believe 2s's use that switch and that's why it's not there. I bought the TB from a local buy and we both used it on 2g's with no problems

Even though in a 2G swap you don't use the 1G IPS because you have the IPS in the 2G TPS. It's still used as the fixed SAS (throttle plate stop).
