who make's a set of itb's for the n/a 4g63??? i wanna go with itb instead of adding a turbo??what all will i need if i wanna go with itb? anyone done this? pics?
 
I know a honda guy who has itb's on his type r motor. According to him it was extremely hard to tune it.
 
did he fabricate a plenum for it, or did he just put the foam socks over the horns? I wanted to do that for a 240z, but with no map sensor, or maf sensor, or anything to measure how much air is coming into the engine, you'd need a stand-alone system that can calculate based upon ve, tps, rpm, and some other factors to make up for the lack of any air metering.
 
I'm not sure of a company that is actually producing ITBs for that engine, but i know that TWM makes ITBs for honda applications. You could contact them and see what they may offer. Also, TODA makes them for hondas, but they are strictly honda.
Also, you can use a MAP sensor with ITBs. There is a vaccuum port on each TB, and you just tee all the lines into the map sensor. I had an ITB setup on an integra with a ls/vtec setup. It would be really hard to tune if you didnt have a stand-alone.
Each TB has a velocity stack on it, so no filter or anything. You just have to keep the engine bay clean.... :thumb:
It really made the most power from 6000 to 9500 rpm, not much good under those rpms.

Racing Performance Works ( Racing Performance Works ) makes them special order for about $3000.00. i have started looking in to this for a project that i want to do. also i want to say you can use `busa throttle bodies or any large motorcycle tb with custom mounts. the problem is being able to tune the car with out a map sensor or maf sensor to tell how much air is being used. so you will have to do a stand alone:( it is alot of money and will take alot of time. good luck with yours and hope you get them. im still thinking if its worth the cool points for this build or not.
 
grave digger!!... you got to look at when this thread was started... Still good info but i doubt anyone is going to steer away from turbos
