ISC Adjustment

Ok, this question pertains to anyone that's actually had the ISC motor open and adjusted on it. I took mine apart a few minutes ago to clean it. The "tip" of the shaft that sits in the housing only had about an 1/8 of an inch of play going in and out. But, I noticed that if you turn the black piece (highlighted in the yellow box), it gives it alot more play. Question is this, should that black piece be tighten all the way or loosened? More in and out play or less? Thanks.

I never knew you could adjust it, if its bad, it has to be replaced, i could be wrong i have one if you need one tested.

I didn't think so either. But the piece that I have highlighted in the picture can be tightened and loosened causing the shaft to have more or less play
