yup thats to cheap if u dont have any problems with it. 1200-1300 would be the least.

if it's a 97 eagle talon ESI with 160k. Depending on the exact condition of everything. If it just has some mechanical defects and needs servicing but is still in reasonable running condition. (the exact condition is something you would know). But if it's in "fair" condition. I'd say 700 is a very lowball bid. Both KBB, and NBB state higher then 700....Nada specifically 725 for a rough trade in.... KBB 1,335 for a fair sale. I've never liked Nada's values personally though. They seem to be more set up for buying/selling to a dealer, and run on a dealers advantage compared to other BB values. That's just my personal opinion though. Also consider the fact that you are offering replacements.

I mean the real question is how much are you willing to part with it, and what the exact condition of the vehicle is. when it all comes down to it.

Well i put that im asking 1500. i really want to get like 1200 maybe lower. i dont know yet. I wasnt going to sell for that low i was just making sure i new what i was doing. Ya i thought 700 was low to really low. but if it is just a head gasket then somebody is really lucky if they buy it. car is great. interior mint. Somebody that is good with cars will probably buy it and fix it up and make money off of it. Just hope i get 1200 or around that.

Ya i was planning on keeping car and rebuilding it and installing turbo but im only 16 and no money. that would kind of help.

I totally agree you should find out what exactly is wrong, because if it's the rings and requires a rebuild that'd depreciate the value quite a bit. If it's just something minor that's a different story. Heck I'd even fix it myself as you could sell it for more if it was something minor. A car with no mechanical defects is going to always have a lot more value then a fixer upper.

try to fix the valve seals and see what happens. shouldnt cost you more than $25 bucks.

Instead of asking us, just check the BB value and make your own decision. We can't make it for you. The only REAL feedback you can get here is asking about how much repairs will cost to get a car running good in order to help you in your decision.

Rather than throwing money you don't have at parts that may not need to be replaced, try to narrow down what exactly is wrong with the car.

Where is the smoke coming from and what color is it? Coming out at idle or under acceleration? I would do a compression test and a cylinder leak-down test to get a better picture of what exactly is going on with the car.

Depending on what that turns up you might be better off taking less money selling as-is since based on your other posts you don't have the mechanical skills needed to rebuild on your own yet; and the price you'd paid a mechanic to fix it would negate any gains you could make in a sale. Alright i put threads on here before about me selling my 97 talon. well some guy just offered me 900 cash in the morning. The car has bad piston rings. im 90% sure thats what it is. Is 900 good. The car needs body work. not much but needs some. has rust on rockers. pretty bad. interior mint though

I really don't think so. The 2gb (I am assuming by your year, you have a 2gb, I could be wrong) are highly sought after shells. I've seen 2gb talons part out around here for atleast 1500.
