Is this oil pressure level ok?

I recall in my '90 owners manual, it won't actually get up into the acceptable range until it's under load, not at idle. When you're driving, where is it at?

( I love the Km speedos on the DSM) ... If that reading is at idle, you're fine. If you take the oil cap off and look inside to see oil swirling around, you got enough pressure.

Stock gauges doesn't give actual pressure, but shows that pressure is present in the system.

But, being a little low, it could show that connecting rod bearings are getting a bit tired with letting oil flow past them, and this will cause low readings. My Laser has the same readings and know that my bearings are a bit tired, yet got plenty of oil swirl when I look in with the oil fill cap removed with the motor at idle....and this has been like this for the six years that I've owned my DSM .. and I have 191Kmiles (307Km) on my vehicle.

I just got rid of the KM gauges and put on reverse glow gauges haha. I think they look much cooler. I couldn't find any in KM though :/ The engine has 250,000k on it so I think my bearings must be a bit tired, but I do see oil swirl, so that's good to know. Thanks.

Just replaced the oil pump in my 92 Laser RS Turbo AWD and that's about where mine sits during idle once the motor has warmed up. As others have stated, around 3000 RPM is required to bring mine up to the mid-mark on the guage.
