I guess I noticed this happening about a month ago. I walked out to the garage and popped the hood to check fluids and other misc. things before taking the talon out for a drive and I noticed that the upper radiator hose was compressed. It looked flattened, but there was a normal amount of coolant in the overflow tank and in the radiator cap, so I started it up and took it for a drive. It does not overheat or anything and runs just fine, but I suspect the cause may be because the weather got cold all of the sudden. Does this sound normal to anyone else, or should I replace that hose for the heck of it?

As statated above the cause could definitely be a faulty radiator cap. A radiator cap works to maintain a constant pressure in the cooling system. As the antifreeze mixture begins to cool after engine shutdown, a vacuum is created. If the pressure cap doesn't equalize this pressure, a radiator hose can collapse.

I live in Alaska where a few weeks ago it was like 30 below and the hose should NOT get flat haha. give the hose a little squeeze to see if it still has any pressure. if it feels squishy, then put your ear near the cap and see if you hear any escaping from the cap. I was loosing pressure because some gorilla worked on the car before i owned it and broke the fan bolt holes on a new radiator and caused a leak. Just added some solder and it holds pressure now ;p
