Is this even possible? Parked my car, now I have no spark, and ZERO compression

How could this happen? Car ran fine all yesterday, parked it at a friends house, left 5 hours later, hopped in car, car won't start?!?!

WTF?!?

The starter sounded like it wasn't contacting the flywheel, so I tried bumpstarting it... we tried like 10 times and had a good amount of speed...nothing happened, and I thought I heard a metal grinding sound. :notgood: (when the clutch was popped to attempt the start)

Ah well, it was 5am, I call CAA, get it towed to my mechanics and get some sleep. Wake up the next day, take off the oil cap, try to start it and to my surprise the cams were turning!!

I guess the starter was fine afterall. But it was spinning the motor WAY too easy, and I had no spark... So I whip out the compression tester.

0-0-0-0 compression. :barf:

Timing belt looks to be intact, but could have skipped a tooth. Have I bent valves trying to bumpstart it?? How does this happen when? I mean the car was running GREAT, until I turned it off of course.

The :talon: Prevails.

I have had my timing belt jump on me when turning off my car and it bent the valves. I think this is what might of happen to you . I don't think you bent your valves trying to bump start it, I think they were already bent thats why it didn't start. And if your motor is turning over very easily it is another good indicator that there is no compression and that the valves are bent.

great, not even 8 months old. I just rebuilt the damn head, and brand new timing belt was put on.

I did try two different testers. Is there a possibility that none of the valves are bent? The car was only running at 800RPM before I turned it off.

 I believe its possible to not have bent any valves on an interference engine in that situation, but more than likely they are bent. Then again you won't know until you pull the head off. I had something similar happen recently too, in the middle of rebuilding the head, not so fun :toobad:

Lemme know if you have any damage to your pistons, I'm interested if anyone else that's had a similar experience had any piston damage. Thanks.
