Hi,

Please forgive the newbie question. Yesterday, my brother-in-law purchased a '95 GS that was already heavily modified. I must say that is very nice, I'm going to try and make him a site soon so he can show it off. Here's my question, the P.O. claims that he had a 2.4 liter Sebring block topped off with a P & P 2.0 DSM head swapped into the car. Is this even possible???? I tried to do a search, but I didn't see anything. I know that the honda guys make some frankenstien motors, but I've never heard of mixing manufacturers on an engine.
<p>Also, he has a problem with the tires rubbing on the upper control arms, he only has perhaps 1/4" clearance. He's got Racing Hart Evolution 18"'s, but I forgot to note the offset. Is there a good place to find some offset spacers for the DSM's??

Thanks,

Some people use the 2.4 L block (4g64) from galants and some other cars and mate it up with the 2.0 DOHC head. I don't know if that's the block in the sebring, but it very well could be. My parents used to own an old doge/chrystler/someting minivan, and it had a mitsu engine.

Edit: I don't even know if it would be possible to swap that block into a GS without major work anyways.

Hmm, interesting. I forgot that Mitsubishi make parts for all sorts of companies. I guess is could be possible, I was just really curious. It looks like whoever did it knew what they were doing though, although it doesn't feel like it has as much power as it should. My cousins stock '01 feels MUCH stronger on the low-end than his even though theoretically it shouldn't. Anyone else have any insight they would like to share??

Thanks!

I believe you are talking about the chrystler 2.4 not the mitsu 2.4.

I know the 4G64/G4CS swap is doable...and have heard that the other is. I belive he is still NA on that car...if so that is why it is slow. If you want to go fast in a low displacement engine then FI is your friend.
