Is this an EVO 3 throttle body??

I bought this throttle body and would like to make sure it is an Evo 3.

Nope, it's an RVR. You can tell because the throttle cable bracket is on the wrong side.

holy crap, so i dont have the right throttle body? I bought this with an Evo 3 manifold and it was said that it was an Evo 3. Will this even work with the Evo 3 intake manifold?

Are you sure you dont have an RVR manifold as well??

I will have to take a pic of that tomorrow because I am unsure now since ive read that there is 2 different type of evo 3 manifolds.

There is one type of Evo 3 manifold, the other manifold which is similar is from an RVR. The Rvr is a van like creature with a 4g63t motor. It has a smaller throttle body, and some small differences with the manifold.

Is that manifold still as good as an evo 3?

I am not sure about that one, you would need to go search in the long thread about these manifolds to see how it stacks up. When I was looking heavy for one of these manifolds people were just starting to test them. Since I have been looking for over a year for a Evo 3 manifold, and throttle body with ZERO luck I gave up on tracking the progress in that thread.

The RVR manifold is just as good as the Evo. The biggest difference is the smaller throttle body opening (52mm, same as a 2g throttle body). The actual Evo 3 manifold has a 60mm opening, which is the same as a 1g. There are some other small, minor differences such as number/location of vacuum nipples, and possible inclusion of EGR provisions.

If that throttle body came with the manifold, then it's probably a full RVR setup.

Measure the throttle body opening and reference the specs I posted above.

I don't believe I've seen many with the MDP port, and the ones I have seen I forget what car they came off of.

I wont be able to measure this any time soon because i do not have that measuring tool.

Then do you have a spare throttle body lying around? Just hold it up and look.

Or just use a ruler. You should be able to distinguish between the two values below.
52 millimeters = 2.05 inches
60 millimeters = 2.36 inches

So if the throttle cable bracket was not horizontal with the tb itself..It would be evo3..That's how you tell the difference?

No. Look at the above throttle body and picture it bolted to the manifold. Nipples are on the top, FIAV on the bottom with the ISC towards the firewall. Now, tell me where the throttle cable bracket is. Towards the front of the car, right? Where is it normally? Towards the firewall. The cable is also on the firewall side of the intake manifold. There'd be no way you could connect the throttle cable to the bracket.

Ya ok If i flip it like it's mounted..The bracket is on the wrong side as well as the idle screw..
