I read the thread about turbo identification http://www.dsmtuners.com/threads/what-turbo-is-this-merged-turbo-id-identification.57878/ and the numbers look good. However, I don't want to just go off #'s and have absolutely no experience identifying them so can someone look at this pic and tell me what they think?
Numbers are: 48178-01 and 040628125

Closer view of number after 01 in the blank spot, that is the one that tells the difference. Looks like 47 to me pretty sure that is evo3 16g. Need some of the hotside also.
 
I see 47 too

420 and 412= big 16G turbo,
450= EVO I big 16G
460= EVO II big 16G
470= EVO III 16G
520= small 16G

When I bought a used small 16g I had these written down just to be sure, there might be more. That's just what I found before buying my turbo.

The numbers you are interested in are after the 49178-01
 
Definitely legit. Never seen a chinese turbo last ling enough to get surface rust like that. :)
