okay i just bought this 96 Talon Tsi AWD 5spd for 4750 from a guy who didnt want it anymore, it runs great, interior is mint, and it has 72000 miles!!! , and i figured id break it in alittle so i went to the 1/8th mile track here in MN. Stock [with a slipping clutch, winter tires, and plugs that werent changed for at least 50xxx miles, and a 2nd gear syncro with major problems, i could hardly get it in gear at all : (] i ran a time of:

REACTION: 0.729

60': 2.058

MPH: 74.26

660: 9.504

I just want to know if this is a good time for me? also what would this be for a 1/4 mile??? the car is in the shop getting a new tranny right now, along with a ACT 2600 w/ street disc, and i just changed the plugs, and im doing other reg. maintanence [t-belt, and such]. with the new clutch and a good tranny what should i be able to pull off or come close to for a 60' foot time??

Funny reaction time. Were you waiting for the stager to flag you? 60ft isn't terrible, at least you aren't totally bogging it. Your mph seems decent if this is a bone stock car. I ran a 13.66 1/4 with a mph of 80 at the 8th mile. My best 60ft ever was a 1.827 with a stock clutch.

very funny. LOL no i wasnt waiting for him to give me the go. it was the first time ever at the track, and i was racing in pairs... ie my girlfriend was in the car too. and i wasnt sure how the tree worked and such. also yes the car was completly stock, as in everything, even stock airbox.

Why is the reaction time funny? Isn't a 0.500 a perfect light? I had some 1.6s, I don't care about reaction at all, just go when you're ready.
