Is this a good deal ?? PLease help..

What's up ?


I am planning on buying a Big 16G, and 550 injectors from a guy I know, I can pick both of these up for $550.00. turbo is basically brand new with about 1,200 miles on it. also injectors are only a couple of months old.. Should I wait on this deal, or jump on it.. IMHO I think that it's a pretty good deal. I was looking around the net, and found brand new big 16g's for around $600.00. I just need someone elses unbiased opinion, any help is appreciated

I know the guy pretty good, He's kinda the goto DSM guy where I live. The only reason he is selling is to upgrade.. I basically told him I would take the turbo and injectors. I just wanted to get some other opnions, since I am kinda new to the whole dsm scene.

If the turbo is in good shape (no shaft play, etc.) then it's a good deal. And 550 injectors alone can cost $200+ when new.

If you don't someone else will. That is a great deal. A B16G goes for that price alone. You are getting a set of injectors for free almost. I know it is used, just check it for play. That is about 1 to 2 months of driving on a turbo. Sounds good to me.

Pardon the Newbie question, but how do I check for play ? please bare with be, I haven't had my Talon for quite a month yet

Grab the shaft by the nut that holds on the compressor wheel and try to move it (gently but firmly) side to side and then in and out. A tiny bit of side to side play is acceptable (1-2 mm) but there should be no in and out movement. Also check both wheels for nicks and bent fins.

And make sure it doesn't look like this guys. He didn't have any shaftplay but............... you will see!

I would jump all over it for the simple fact that you can install both basically sit them to the side till you get a few more upgrades and just go at your car on a booring day and install em all.

I am sure after that post I linked, someone wouldn't go ahead and buy another..well.....lets be kind....busted ass turbo. I am sure it will be fine. I would buy them. If you don't give me the # to the guy and I will buy it and keep it as a back up.
