IS their an easy way to ship rims/tires

i am selling my rims/tires but ups is charging me 180 to package it and ship it,is their an eaier way or something you guys can think off

Try to find someone in your area who works for fedex. They can ship each wheel for 2 bucks. As far as packaging, DO IT YOURSELF!

yeah, package it yourself and use FedEx instead. I've found FedEx to be cheaper than UPS.

Some UPS affiliates price soely on weight, not package size. They can be helpful in shipping large things. I shipped a 120lb transmission for $60.

As for packaging, just get a large and sturdy moving box and a couple old blankets. (assuming they're nice enough to not want them to scratch)

That sounds a bit steep, what are they charging you for the packaging ??? I had my rims sent over here to Italy from WA state via USPS priorty mail for $180. Sounds to me half of the cost is probably the packaging. Just go find some sturdy cardboard boxes from behind Home Depot or a grocery store. Also remember to slide a nice thick piece or two between the rims and ship two to a box....

Another question while we are talking about shipping. Does anyone know if you can just ship 2 tires by taping them together and putting a label on them. That is how tirerack ships them, but I didn't know if I could. I was wanting to go usps. They seem to be cheaper than Fedex and UPS from all the things I have shipped. i've got a bunch of sets of tires like that in the mail before. tire companies don't have any secret ties with shipping companies so i'm pretty sure you could do it too. i would tape them though, use that plastic band stuff like they tie up big boxes with in stores, the tape would just fall off.

yea thats good question, ups only was gonna charge me 24 bucks to package it,..

yep thats how i got a stock bumper shipped to me, just had to go to the greyhound station and pick it up. it was just wrapped in bubble wrap with a label on it. way cheaper then conventional shipping methods. get a quote at www.greyhound.com
