Is the power steering pump a PITA to replace?

Pump is whining and steering getting hard to turn. Yes, it still has fluid! Also, is the haynes manual for 2G's worth a sh1t?

Oh yeah, the car is a '95 eclipse.

I think the hardest part about changing out the pump would be replacing the line to the pump. Never undone those, personally, but getting the pump free is a piece of cake. If only the alternator were that easy! !

I just realized you are a 2G. This stuff is on the 1G....

Remove the little wire connector, mine is spliced into the alternator connection.
The PS line with the banjo bolt fitting comes off, there is one more line.
Have some shop towels around cause it's messy.
Remove the heat shield around the pump.
There are holes on the PS pulley and they line up with the bracket
bolts. Take those out and you can tilt the pump pulley and remove the belt.

Keep in mind you need to be in 1st gear and move the tires or what not
to get those holes on the PS pump lined up with the bolts on the bracket.

Thanks...I am going to tackle it this week. Man, i didnt know the pump was so expensive...$114.00 from O'Rielly's. Does that sound right? Thanks for the help!!
