Is the 4g63 same as 4g63t?

Does 90s' 4g63 have the same internals as the 4g63t? Or would I have to put the turbo head on the n/t? Or is the pistons different?

I've found a few 4g63's but i need to build a 4g63t and I would like it to be a 6 bolt..
If anyone has any information let me know. thanks

If by 4g63, you mean N/A 4g63......you can build an n/a 4g63 to be a turbo engine. The cranks are the same, the head is the same except the camshafts. The cams are interchangeable, but n/a cams are not designed for a turbo engine. The blocks are pretty much the same, except the turbo engine has oil squirters, which arent totally necessary. The rods in a turbo engine are stronger, and the pistons are different compression ratios. Even the intake manifolds are the same. The throttle bodies are different too, but they are still interchangeable as well.

Pretty much if you're looking to rebuild it with forged pistons, then yeah you can use the N/A block w/o oil squiters. Oh, and the side not the N/A throttle body is just a tad bigger, and easier to run IC piping with just a coupler on it, rather then an elbow...

awesome man... so if i get a 6 bolt turbo bottom end, i can use any N/a head and just change the cams? and i would assume to use the 1g turbo timing belt?

I plan to put this in my 2g tsi... whom ever did the timing on it.. ####ED IT ALL UP... the intake cam was vertical and the exhaust cam as a good half a cam off.. how it ran idk.. but it doesnt now hahaha so.. i have a project here...

thanks tone:thumb:

Yup. My car is an n/a block, n/a head makin 600+whp. Just gotta do a few things to make it work in your 2g. Any 2g guys can chime in and tell you exactly what you have to do to do a 6 bolt swap into a 2g.
