is placing an A/t Cooler on the back of my VRSF fmic a bad thing

Can and will this create a higher then normal operating temp issue? currently Im running anywhere between 205-216

Just buy a colder thermostat, probably a 170 or 180 and you'll be fine

No, but I would duct your FMIC/radiator. Since air takes the path of least resistance, when ducted, its forced through the intercooler, trans cooler then through rad.

I have my oil cooler stuffed between my VRSF and rad. No issues what so ever. Plenty of people run that setup.

If it's directly attached to the FMIC, I could see that creating a problem due to heat transfer. If it's just sitting behind the IC, you're probably ok. Your best bet is going to be building some ducting between the IC and radiator, and putting the trans cooler somewhere inbetween.

If you are adding an FMIC, why not put the new A/T cooler in the location of your old stock SMIC? Little more work, but everything stays cooler all the way around. Just a bit of food for thought...

To answer the original question, it may not hurt anything at all..but it is just one more restriction getting air to your radiator. Personally, I would not put one there, but thats personal preference. Ultimately its your car, do what you want to do.

Great advice this does nothing

And o/p you not to long ago started a thread of where to mount your a/t cooler after you got the fmic and everybody including myself said to install it where the smic was located if you are scared of heat then just move it but 200 to 216 in kinda normal and there is countless threads on things of the nature start using GOOGLE or the searh option in this forum
