is my tranny stock. what to look for when cracking it open?

i recently got i fully built 6 bolt with a fwd tranny. the tranny has the stock paint on it.
my question is what am i looking for when i take it apart to see if there has been work done to it?
a picture would probably help the most.

If you did not get an invoice with the tranny, assume its not "built". One thing to look for is if the shop resealed the case with sealant, look for the squished sealant.

i got the swap out of my local junk yard for $650.
there is squished sealant (white)
and the bolts looked to be touched.
