Is it ok to use red line SI-1 fuel system cleaner?

I heard redline si-1 is the best out there and it does work but is it ok to use in a car with 123k miles? i have a 97 auto gsx with moderate mods. i just dont want it to clog things up in my car cause i know it has strong stuff in it.

I like Redline products. I used the Valvoline complete fuel system clean a couple of times when I had my 7 bolt and I dunno if it did anything but it surely didn't hurt.

I usually use Seafoam for all cleansing purposes aside from removing the injectors and taking them to a shop for cleaning. It has worked wonders for me in the past, so that's what I use.

Agreed, I also use seafoam. Make sure to change your oil afterwards.

+1 with the seafoam, just dont make a habbit of using it all the time and you should be good.

Fuel system cleaner is bullshit. If you've somehow gotten some water into your gas tank, the alcohol and related solvents can break it down so that it'll absorb into the gas and get burned. But otherwise, tell me: what cleaner have you ever used that works as well as gasoline?

HAha good point. My girlfriend recently bought a chevy equinox, and at the first scheduled servicing, the tech tried to sell on the "complete fuel system package that is guaranteed to raise your mpg by at lest 3." He told me/her it was only $19.95. When I asked what it consisted of, and he told me that it was fuel system cleaner, I started laughing. I asked "well where does the other $10-$15 go?" He replied "Well, for the labor of course sir." Apparently only Chevy techs have mastered the art of pouring.

I would recommend Berryman's B-12 Chemtool for fuel injectors, carburetors and crankcases, @ $3.50. It has worked wonders on a few really old cars that have sat for quite some time. I run it once a year around this time since its starting to warm up but still gets down there at night. Condensation weather sucks. I laugh at the Autozone pepboys guys who always pump/promote their monthly special on fuel injector cleaners etc. I see the average joe get suckered every time.
