My younger sister has a 98 auto rs and she hates that its so slow... how do these motors hold up to a small amount of boost..like 5-6 psi? she just wants it a little quiker. My main concern is the auto tranny. Can these tranny's hold any power really?

Also, if this motor is able to hold small amounts of boost tuned n everything with like an safc do you think it would still be a good DD with like 6 psi?

Also, would like a 4g63 manifold and all that other stuff bolt up or would everything have to be pieced together?

Any info would help. Thanks

Yes, you can turbo it. There's several guys on here that have done that. Please don't cut corners. Do it right When you cut wires, solder and shrink tube them to prevent future problems. Make sure you get the turbo oil lines right etc . Selmerguy's car I have seen. It seems to run pretty good. You might contact him for exactly what you need. There's quite a list you are going to need to fill. I also think there's some kits you can buy with instructions. Probably Slowboy's and such. Have fun with your project. Just be careful.

Good Luck

what type of engine does a rs have? 420a?
i think the turbo install would be similair to the one for 4g64
i'm not sure about the headers, because 4g63T headers fit on 4g64, but i don't know about 420a
you might be able to run safely 7-8 psi on stock internals
check this website for more info and parts http://4g64.150m.com/turbo.html

nothing from the 4g63 will work. well somethings but it would be easier to go with a kit check www.haunracecraft.com and you will only need the safc if you upgrade the injectors. even with the safc it would be a good daily driver. if you have any questions about the tranny and how it holds up talk to Todd(hiphop615) he might be able to get you a turbo kit and anything else if you talk to him. :thumb:
