I've searched, but I couldnt find the answer. I've also emailed the guys at ecm, but I havnt received a reply. I hope I could get a faster answer by some of you guys who currently run dsmlink. Thanks.

I'm running on WinXP fine.

I imagine it should work on Vista. You probably would have more trouble with the serial port or serial to USB drivers running under Vista.

Yes it is.

It's funny that you ask this. I went to best Buy on my lunch break today and bought a new laptop to use with Link, and I had to research to be sure the Link software would function with the Vista OS.

If you already have Link and are a member on the forums, check these out: DSMLink User Group Forums

If you cannot view the forums, here's the cliff notes: vistausage [ECMTuning - wiki]

And it's always worked flawlessly with XP.

+1 works with vista. there are a few threads on the dsmlink forums talking about it. So if you want to buy it just do it and go on there and you will find the info you need.

Cheers

Dont know if it is just me but the link you posted for the link forums does not work properly and yes I am a member and yes I am signed in when I click the link. But maybe it is just me.

It was a simple list of search results. With "Vista" being the seach keyword, and a filter to only shouw threads with Vista in the title. It must have timed out.

Link runs for me on Vista. Although I haven't actually used it to tune my car. I'm just learning the stuff.

I run it on vista through bootcamp on a macbook pro.....I also have it for OSX. Just can't update .jar files so they don't have the routine for my NGK AFX on the mac version, hence why I run it on vista.

Vista will take your ports or not allow you to "find" them very easily,
It took me a little while to get it working, but XP is far easier.
If anyone tells you Vista is plug and play they are lie'n son!

It's funny you say that.

I just installed Link on my new laptop (which runs Vista). All I had to do was indicate which generation of ECU, and which COM port - it connected right away. And the settings saved as well. So far, I'm having better luck than I did with XP.

Plug -n- play all day! :p

Thanks for the replies guys. I just wanted to be sure before I go out and purchase a laptop. :thumb:
