Is a wide Band o2 sensor worth it?

I was looking at getting a wide Band o2 sensor and running a relay from most of my sensors to the terminal and running it off my laptop well i should say one of my spare laptops. Is that a good idea or is it just something to do once and say screw it from now on?

Unless you can change the tune on your car I don't think it is worth it for you considering your n/a..

if i did the wide band I would get the softwear to tune the car as well as far as the N/A goes I have a project commign up to rebuild everything and add some cool little toys in at the end. The only reason im not doing that now is because im currently deployed with the militaty

Well what are your goals with this car.. It is extremely expensive and hard to make a 420a go fast.. What are you going to tune with?? If you went turbo I think it would be a good idea.. I dont think you should spend that much on this car but thats just me..

I had a dream once, that I was going to turbo my 420a and make it go fast but then I woke up and bought a GSX...

Not needed until you start changing stuff like injectors, fuel pressure, add a turbo, change compression... etc.

Even if you get software to "tune" with. You need the ECU to tune with the software. Save your cash on the wideband and read the N/T build path.Tech Guide: 2G 420A Power Upgrades - DSMtuners
It is impossible to "communicate" with our stock ECU to change anytihng on the fly. AF/X has a reflashed ECU that is very stable if you are going to stay N/A.

I am gonna buy one but not hook it up because i do plan to modify a lot of things in my car, well its not even buying im going to get my buddies. he is giving it to me for free

If you can get a free wideband, there is no reason to not hook it up. Keep in mind though that you will not be able to tune your ECU, so aside from using the wideband to diagnose engine issues, it'll be useless to you.
