advantages of a wide band o2 sensor...

What are the advantages of a wide band o2 sensor? I have heard a lot about them but im not really sure what the major purpose is. Would it be a good thing to have for a daily driver or are they just needed for race cars? About how much do they cost?

Umm... You could have searched for this answer...

A wideband o2 sensor will enable you to tune your car. It will give you an accurate reading of your air to fuel ratio. Most o2 kits come with a sensor, brain box, and software for you to use on a laptop.

I personally use the Dynojet WidebandCommander.

if you want something quick and easy, i plan on getting the aem uego guage wideband. but yea it will give you a precise digital a/f readout to tune with.

EDIT: just checked your mod list, forget the wideband you need the basics first

i was thinking about that aem gauge too. can you hook a lap top and or data log with it?

Yes, I want to get that thing man, it's so pricey, but then again, it's more than just a 2 1/16" light show, so I guess it's worth it, haha. I need to get my SAFCII ordered as well.

im sorry i havent updated my mod list but i have a few more things. Intake, header, exhaust, udp, and ignition.... thats my bad... about how much do they run in price??

ive found the gauge one new for $440 and that includes the sensor. not sure if anyone has found it cheaper. but unless you actually have something to tune it with it will be pointless

That would be nice. but no. you need something along the lines of a S-AFC, MSnS, E-manage, AEM EMS, ect.
