Is 30 counts of knock on a 1G cool?

Heh, I tested EMS 0001 for 1g's....Before I figured out that the EMS is calibrated for a 2g knock sensor and that they have entirely different ranges, I got lots of it, at idle even, scary sound=)

Man, you must have REALLY banjaxed your fuel and timing maps to get that to occur!

I was referring to knock at WOT (obviously) when the car is loud. I totally agree that you could hear knock at idle, but I don't think that's really the issue here.

As far as toys go, that one has alot of buttons, especially when your the only 1g owner with one and it like version .68=) I was actually doing it on purpose to see if I could measure knock at all....I couldn't.

1. On your keyboard, next to the comma, there is a little dot called a period. Give it a shot.

2. Also on the keyboard, there is a big key to the left of the "Z" and to the right of the "?." Try that one too.

3. You're wrong. You can't "tell" when a motor has too much knock if the knock sensor is unplugged.

haha... Thanks for the advice ! anyway i am not running enough boost to get over 10 knock i jus want to drive my car without having the timming retarded with sum power which i can't have with around 10 knock with it plugged in. I am not taking to the strip anytime soon so i think i'l be ok.

this is what happens when you don't pay attention to your knock sensor. i had done 2 pulls on the 1/4 mile logging this and i had no knock at all, so like an idiot i figured i'd be good for a long highway pull. wrong. if i could've watched the knock sensor with a logger i would've seen this thing knocking before any of this happened.

I also have an led hooked up so it flashes when it knocks and if it holds the knock i know its to much and I'l back of the gas. I am not racing the car either and i barely do pulls ont he highway.
