Internal or External Dump

What are the pros and cons about having either an Internal or External dump on the 02 housing? External needed for bigger turbos?

Most people get External to help get rid of boost creep. It gives the wastegate alot more room to dump. Only bad thing is that it is very loud have been known to melt some things(pending on which one you get). As far are you needing one for bigger turbo's i don't think there is a need but it would be alot better. Most of the bigger turbo's will need an external wastegate.

Awesome thanks for the links. Well I read up on it and to just clairify the best way to eliminate boost creep would be to have an external wastegate on the exhaust manifold and have an o2 dump tube that dumps into the atmosphere on the exhaust? Thus it would be loud but you can have the external gate on the manifold and dump tube right?


Another thing I wanted to know, if you were going to get a o2 housing with a dump tube and it only opened during WOT it would be like having no exhaust at all because all the exhaust is leaving at the o2 housing. So wouldnt it be cost efficient to just buy a o2 housing with a dump tube and leave the rest of the exhaust stock? Is there some benefit from having an exhaust and a dump tube?
