Hey im new to these pages and i am interested in buying this 1G in my area. Its a 91 mitsubishi eclipse w/ a 2.0l dohc 4g63 n/t motor, 5 speed. the engine is blown and i have a good deal on getting a 4g63t, if that doesn't fall through. now i am going through the process of restoring the car a little, keep the look stock but real clean. what do i need to know about the swap, because i plan on keeping the tranny, which the owner tells me is in good condition. the only thing i know i will need is the engine, ecu, and turbo wiring harness, is it going to be difficult to put a turbo engine on a non turbo tranny, or should i just get both the engine and tranny together and sell the stock tranny somebody help me out.

also i know i will be parting out of some of the parts so let me know what anyone will need and i will tell you if i will sell it. as well as i am looking for a stock gsx wing so if anyone has one let me know

Yes the N/T tranny is weaker than the turbo tranny. If your tight on cash you can do the swap with the n/t tranny still in and get a turbo tranny later but if you have the funds go ahead and get the turbo tranny and sell the n/t one. Good luck.

so if i stay with the n/t tranny and the turbo, then what about the ecu, i was checking the other forums and it showed me at ecanfix.com that the n/t ecu is missing only four wires that the turbo ecu has, and those wires are only for the turbo. do you think i could find a turbo ecu or should i just splice some wires and mock up the n/t ecu w/the turbo harness
