I had a specific question about the Greddy intercooler on my talon. It came on the car and worked fine for the previous owner, but I personally am not too comfortable running an intercooler that looks to be this banged up...

I have a friend currently wanting to give 200cash for the intercooler alone. Would it be work ditching this one in favor of a new one to possibly support flow for 500whp?

My biggest concern though is the damaged fins, they are all crushed down and almost an entire layer of fins are crushed on the bottom from his car being too low in previous years.

Im not a fan of the particular FMIC setup. I would scrap it and get a new one. And yes bent fins will effect cooling capabilities because the bend fins would not allow air to flow through them and transfer the heat properly.
Whether under boost or not, bend fins will slow the heat transfer causing your charged air to cool less efficient!!

EDIT:

Well sorry I just read the last four post, and see you are working it out.

Well, I think the VRSF Kit is proven it's own around here so I don't think you'll be upset with it, if you end up getting it.
And same goes for punishment racing!

Good luck and update us all when you decide, get, and install! ;)

I will update in my build thread later down the road. This thread can be closed however since the issues was "resolved" and it is already being installed on another car.

But yes, either way I go (Punishment/VRSF) Im sure the results will be outstanding.

If it didn't leak and it was just a looks thing, you may get away with rerouting a little and flipping the IC to put that pipe behind instead of in front, hard to say if you could do it because I can't see the orientation of the outlet on the other end tank. So long as its straight out it should work.
