Intercoller Fitting?

i have a 96 gst 4g63t i just bought an intercooler will it fit with the stock radiator and bumber and is there anything i have to do to make it fit the best????

It would help if you told us what kind of intercooler it is, or if you don't know, a picture would be great. There are lots of different intercoolers out there and some fit with little effort, while some require cutting of the bumper and/or other modifications to make them work.

I have just about the same question, im looking on buying the Mishimoto UNIVERSAL Z Line Intercooler just because i can't find a kit that would leave my fog lights and crash beam the way they are(factory/stock). So i dont want anything too big, im running T28 so i dont need a huge intercooler, and if i upgrade to something bigger in turbo it would be either a 20G or 16G not sure but for now is t28 for a while, and i don't like the smic.. and this Universal intercoolers dimensions are: Overall size: 28" x 7.5" x 2.5", which is perfect for me as i want to keep everything how it is with out any cutting. now my problem is buying the piping for it. i was looking on buying something already made for an intercooler which the inlet and outlet location may line up the same. But i can not find one, so i was thinking on running a upper intercooler pipe from DEJON TOOL, to the same location as the SMIC pipe, and the from there im not sure what to run, neither from the Intercooler to the turbo.

I was looking around and i found some silicone piping for SRT's and WRX but i couldn't find for our dsm's, do any of you know any vendor who make these for us? Or just regular piping that would route from the turbo to the front to fit on the Universal intercooler?
It would be a great help if you give me information..

Go with one from VRSF. Is just a little bit more, $307. And it is designed around the car for better fit. It should give you better performance. They have Dyno results on the site on their product showing 30 more HP than their competior.

I'm a little sketchy of some of the intercooler "kits" on ebay because a majority of them are a DIY type so they will take some modifying to make them work.

There are a few kits from like cxracing and just-intercoolers I think that have some pretty decent kits that bolt up with some minor work I believe.

if you are going with that ebay kit, you will need at least 2 things.

-J pipe for you 16g
-Transition coupler for your stock TB elbow.

I would go with one designed for our cars, in your case a 2g, VRSF, ETS, and punishment all have amazing kits, all at different price ranges for what you are a looking and to match your budget. support our vendors.

EDIT: you are going to also need to learn how to bead pipes or have them beaded when you are done routing them

Agreed. I'm going with a VRSF lot myself. I was going to mount and plumb up the Evo 9 intercooler I have. But I'm thinking now that I am going to try to sell that and go with the VRSF kit.
