This is what's happing gauges, headlight dimer works, when i open the door there's no light and no power to my radio. I have check all fuse and they all test fine, the car has greddy e01 controller and after market gauges. i didnt wire it up it came that way worked fine up until now my battery died and after charging it i notice no power to my radio and when door is open no light can any one point me in the right direction to fix :thumb:

Ive had that problem before but in a 1G. Did you check EVERY fuse in the box, or only the ones for the radio and light? If you didnt check all of them, check again because these cars are wired weird, both 1 and 2G, and the electrical systems are kinda shoddy to begin with. For example, the fuse labeled "room" went out, and my locks, radio and cabin lights wouldnt work. Once, after a motor swap, damn near everything quit working. The fix? I removed every fuse in the box, checked them, found no blown fuses, and when I put them back in, everything started working like nothing was ever wrong and I have no clue why.

check the bulb for the light as it may have burned out. as far as the radio goes, sounds like a wire came loose in the back or grounded depending on if someone did not wire it correctly. Check the power cable to the radio for insulation problems and any other wires that may look 'defective'. Also, check all the fuses and relays that may be relavent to either problem. The overhead light could be a door switch that either stuck or broke. Electrical problems are so tricky.

The radio may have a fuse on the power cord itself. I would check that, if it has one. Some do and some do not, I have had cars that have had both configurations.

Thank but i have tryed all that was suggest to me is there anything else that i can try like i said all, fuse check fine bulb doesnt look burned out ive check all wiring behing the radio and nothings loose more help is need thanx

this happened in my buddies forrester, he ran with no interior power for 2 days. check your backup fuse, that powers most of the interior.

Just because a fuse looks okay does not mean it is. Kick the key to on then take your trusty test light and find a solid ground then test both sides of the back of the fuse. If you look close at the flat back side of a spade fuse you will see two little spots with exposed metal, That is where you want to touch with the sharp end of your test light. Both sides should cause you to get a positive light and if they don't you found your bad fuse that looks fine.

Ive checked all fuse, also have no to the port that i plug the scanner in, how do i get the ecu to relearn the car's function i think when the battery was disconnected the ecu rest it self

did you check the fuse that is in the wiring behind the radio? it will be like a Buss fuse, round and not like an H fuse. Most radios have this and it is part of the wiring. It can be bad and look ok. check the fuse plug in with a tester and see if it is even getting power at the fuse itself. Check the wire for the radio as well and see if it is getting power to the radio, if so, your radio may have shorted out, rare but can happen. will take some time to do all this as it is not easy to get to. Try different fuses of the same amp that you know to work as well.

Even if the radio is fried dome light should work, there's the spot that not showing power dome light , radio , and where i plug in the scanner i think it has something to do with my ecu

dome light has sensors at each door that can stick. The switch, itself, at the light could be bad or sticking to off. As GSX said, bad dimmer switch can cause it too. if it will not come on with the ON switch, the courtesy light assembly could be going bad as well. It still sounds like a bad wire somewhere behind the radio and/or fuse box in the footwell and a bad fuse. will have to check the wiring very carefully and inspect it for any holes or burn marks. check that the voltage is as stated in the shop manual for trouble shooting as well.

disconnect the negative terminal on your battery for about 10 minutes, reconnect it, start the car and let it idle for about 15 minutes. if you have a custom tune and your on a 2g ecu, i wouldn't recommend it, they dont have data memory savers like the 1g ecus

You either have a bad dimmer switch or a blown taillight fuse under the hood.
I just checked the tail fuse and theres no power coimng from the fuse box where that fuse go so if this my problem how do i fix

So now nothing works in the windows, sunroof, radio, dome light, i've check all fuse in the car and on under the hood im still not coming up with any thats help me please if any one had this problem your two cent is need

I did forget to mention the car has one of those ground kit on it can the problem be coming from there ? I see most of you guys give up on my post if any one out there can help

Check all the fuses. another thing is that inside the car (at least on 1g dsms) there is like a little metal clip thing that goes over two of the fuses on the interior fuse box. I had my radio stop working and also lights because that metal clip became loose. Check that if thats ok , then go under your hood and check all of those. Good luck.

had the same problem in my 2g spyder. there is a duel fuse in the engine compartment than controls both mine ended up being a badly grounded aftermarket head unit.

The best advice I can give is to follow the wires with a test light till you find power and look in that area for what is stopping it. I know what a time consuming nightmare that is but I know it works 100% of the time no matter what kind of car it is.

Where is the dual fuse located in the engine bay, any picture or exact location and description would be helpful? And where did you end up grounding the aftermarket head unit? Also how did you fix the whole problem?? :hmm:

there is a fuse box in your engine bad on the passenger side of the bay and i believe its marked radio. mine was two fuse (10 amp each i believe) hooked together in a yellow case if i remember correctly. my ground is just behind the hear unit, there was a treaded hole there that i use i hooked an eyeloop connector to the ground wire put the bolt there in and tightened it down. grounded perfectly. ll try and get some pics.

Thanx every one i guess its time to put her in the shop for those that haven't solved this issue ill will post what is need to fix the problem since there isn't one on this forum.

there is a duel fuse in the engine bay that houses i think two 10a fuses its in an incasement yellow i think i took mine off. but its for a radio/interior light fuse if one of the fuses are bad both systems dont work.

i dont know if you still need this but the blue circle are the fuses im talking about. the one on the right is the radio the one on the left is the interior lights. they used to be hooked togther but i separated them.
sorry you can see the circle but its the two red fuses in the lower left corner. and yea there both 10a.

as for the radio if i tear it apart anytime soon ill snap a pic. sorry for the inconveniense and id love to help on this but i dont wanna tear it apart just to snap a pic and put it back together. :-(
