i have a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse gs special edition 5 spd
it has a 4g69 mivec motor
- im hoping this site is the right place for help.
i installed my cold air intake and now i have some minor problems that make me worry.

-on a cold start it runs rough(sound like fullauto paintball gun) till it begins to get warm, then runs completely fine. then after about 24 hours theservice engine soon light comes on, still running smooth(only when engine is warm). then after about 2-5 hours it will stall with no signs of it going to happen. then i put the stock intake system back on the car the light goes out and the car runs fine again . i have never had this occur before with any other vehicle ive owned, new or old.
- i checked the kit i bought its put together pretty good. it has good smooth sealed welds. nice fit for the mass air flow sensor that seals properly. the intake also seals perfectly at the stock throttle body . it runs like a vacuum leak when its at cold start idling but once its quarter way warm on the guage it runs fine. i havent hooked a scanner up yet for the mil, i will as soon as i get acces to one, hopefully that will shed a good direction to go to diagnos this problem . im now running my car stock again and the problem has gone away, but i want to use the kit because it works fine while physically in motion(until the check engine light comes on) i definetely get pleasing results what is my problem. if anyone can shed some light on this please, thank you very much.
