intake manifold spacer

I just bought one and from all I've read it works great keeping the intake off the head more, and keeping temps down. And I believe you just use it alone without a gasket, because it is the gasket, it looks like a chunk of plastic to me LOL.

Don't was your time and money. That plastic intake manifold gasket is a pos. Why?

1. Will shrink after a few thousand milea and cause boost leak.
2. Can cause the intake manifold flange to crack if you don't be careful when tightening the manifold
3. Give little to no gain after the engine is heated up.
4. Can not be reuse because if will have depressions in it
5. You are buying a potential problem
6. Say no to stupid mod!

Really? LOL.

Mine has been great! I've had the manifold off a few times, put it back on, boost leak tested to 45# with no leaks, run 40# of boost past it on a regular basis, hasn't shrunk at all with dozens of thermal cycles, manifold flange on both my JMF race and drag manifolds never cracked, and my manifold is noticeably cooler to the touch after driving for any length of time versus an OEM or Felpro gasket.

It's most likely nylon. And the magnus one is different.

I run one, and my intake is alot cooler to the touch after driving, but if you let sit and idle, it will get heat soaked. I did have the shrinkage/warping issue, but it was on my car for about 20,000 miles. Bought a new one and have had it on there for 26,000 miles, and I dont have any issues that Ive noticed. And Ive had the intake off and on a few times.

Edit: I also used copper spray on both sides before I installed/reinstalled just to have that little extra sealing power.

People have been using these for years across many different platforms with great success.

Usually these are made from Phenolic, which has high heat resistance, and is very durable, but the one in the link probably is no Phenolic, since Phenolic is usally a darker color (brownish)

You are correct it took me a minute to figure out why my jmf cracked two times before realizing that this thing needed to be removed. Thanks

Ive had one on my car for a few years now. I used to go through IM gaskets about every year. Since I've installed this with copper spray I havent had a single issue.. I havent removed the manifold myself since I bought it however a couple local friends also run them and have numerous times, no issues.

Total gimmicks. Unless your engine is outside your car.
Once the engine is up to running temps, the engine bay heat will heat soak any manifold UNLESS you have killer intercooling, water meth injection or a good hood scoop or cowl. the plastic gasket spacer does not possess any magical intercooling properties. heat from the head still travels through the bolts that bolt it to the head. and if you have your throttle body still running coolant, it really is completely useless.
Anyone who claims success with these spacers, show us some real world temp testing. Cooler to the touch results are the same as butt dyno results.

Jay racing sells one and I love it. I have seen the magnus one melt or warp from excessive heat. The magnus one is a flexible plastic (I know it's not plastic) material. The one from Jay racing is hard and not flexible at all. I have no problems with it leaking or fitting at all. I never really paid attention exactly to heat but my jmf intake was never super hot to the touch.

There are so many things that are a waste of money and time on these cars and this is one.
