I was just wondering what the benefits of upgrading your intake manifold really is... I currently have a 97' gsx with a 6 bolt, using the cyclone intake manifold, and was wondering if I would see much of an improvement by switching to a venom intake manifold. DSMparts.com says up to 21 whp. Is this true?

doesnt different runner lengths equal power at different times?? i do believe a longer intake runner dealy = more top end. but yeah, more air, it flows more gooda.:D

If hp is what you want then an upgraded intake manifold is a great way to get it.

But do some research on some mani's out their. Some vendors can say it will give you 21hp, but in turn you would loose some bottom end power wich they just happen to not say.

See some vendors can say it will give you power but they wont tell you its in between 5000 to redline , wich you will never see on the street.

In my personal opinion go with the magnus sheetmetal intake with the longer intake plenum and a short runner design.

It does not AT ALL sacrifice any bottom end and gives you a whoping 40 hp on small turbo set ups and a discusting 50 to 60 hp increase in larger turbo set ups.

I am not saying that dsmparts.com is trying to give it to you because I personally am buying my roll cage from them, they have great prices and good customer service.

P.s you have to do some research on things like this befor you dish out money , because in the end it's you who loses out not the vendors.
