intake and exhaust and now my car doesnt seem to have as much acceleration as before

i put on an ebay air intake and exhaust and now my car doesnt seem to have as much acceleration as before! any suggestions as of what could be happening?

is it a catback exhaust and did you recirc the bov

its a header back! and what's a bov? sorry im new to this.

yeah sorry bov is blow off valve but i didnt see that you were n/t you should have seen a little hp gain i am suprised that you didnt see anything

Did you do the whole exhaust from the header back or did you hook up the headers to your factory exhaust, and what style of header did you install. some pics of the header would be nice should be able to help you better if I can see the header.

Sounds like you have a leak somewhere.

Check all the lines that connect to your intake pipe and make sure they are connected securely. Also check to make sure your couplers are on completely and the clamps are nice and tight. You don't want any leaks in the intake system.

Same with exhaust. Make sure all the bolts for the headerback are torqued to spec. Refer to your shop manual for those numbers. If you don't have one, get one. It is very important to torque all bolts to spec when working on your car.

is it a full exhaust. from head to muffler?
a leak could cause a small loss in performance. but i would think it would have to be a huge leak for any noticeable loss.
id say intake coupler..

okay im going to get some pics of the ebay exhaust. everything is tightened to spec and theres no leaks in the intake or exhaust! now i have an even bigger problem and this is it, now i have a knock. im guessing its a bent valve or lifter??? what do i do??

awe man that suckss... how much do you like your car???? sell it and buy a turbo madel or get a rebuilt engine i couldn't see a stock rebuild costing that much on a n/t

well my plan any ways was to build an all motor/nitrous daily driver! So i guess im starting a little earlier than i thought i was gonna. so i guess my first question will get answered later after i do my rebuild. where can i post pictures and thread about my project when i start?

As far as making a thread about a build I think you just go the the blogs drops down menu next to marketplace and go to post to my blog. However you have to have a minimum amount of post to do so.
