My car does not seem as fast as it should be. Does it need to be tuned?

Today i ran my friend in a 90 talon tsi awd. Its pretty much stock just a buscher racing downpipe, custom 3" exhaust, and an apexi n1 axle back. No electronics at all. For some reason he was keeping up with me. I mean my cars not like really really fast but i know it should be faster than that. think it needs a tune?

Boost leak test than a tune. Me and my brother have pretty much the same set up. Look at my profile and at the time I did not have the injectors or maf. He had a FMIC, 2g maf, intake, fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, greddy blue EMS and no tune. He was running 14psi and I ran 11psi. Even though he had the extra mods I stayed right with him and both our cars where at tip top shape. When he went to get tuned his base dyno was around 200whp. After tuning he layed down 300whp 300lb torque. 100 whp increase and over 100lb torque. This was on pump gas at only 17psi

Tuning is like Night and Day! The richer you are the slower you will be.. So i would do what was stated and then get a tune. You can alway's go halves with your brother on a Wideband tuning it yourself whenever needed.

I know this isn't the problem but in your profile you say you have a 255hp pump, Do you have a AFPR?
