the easiest way to do it is just to call a few insurance companies and ask. They'll usually give you a quote for free. My brother and I have both done that before buying our cars. There are so many variables that it is hard for someone other than an insurance company to tell you how much it's gonna cost.

Usually it depends on your location. It is classified as a 4wd, which is not good, and sports car, which is not good. I pay $96/month. I am 21 with no tickets and no wrecks and with 2 cars through them. BTW my Camaro is only $75/month, and its worth $7k more than the Talon. I go through State Farm. I was paying $169/month for the Camaro, but as soon as I turned 21 it dropped considerably. Plus I get a good student discount, which is $600 off per 6 months.

wow $600 off per 6 mos ? that's one heck of a discount. My good student discount was only 10%. I'm jealous.

Ha Ha. I only pay 60.01 per month on my 92 Tsi and that's without the good student discount. It should drop to around 50 a month after that kicks in. I'm through Allstate BTW.

im through a local place...i pay $70 a month...and i have one speeding ticket on my record...and im 17. my old cavalier was more than this laser. the cavy was almost $90.

I jinxed myself. I just got a recertification for my good student discount, but I didn't go to school last year. I am in trouble. I am going to send them my transcript that shows my good grades from 2001, hope it works, otherwise I am screwed.

I pay $250 a month for my 2 cars. Here in good old Jersey they rape you without lube.

Get the VIN and call.

I live in NYC im 17 years old and Insurance is $7,000-10,000 a year not even for full Insurance My friend is 20 and he drives 26 hours to FL once a year to do his Insurance so his car has FL plates Insurance in NYC cost more than his car and its old and beat up

Hey I was wondering what the prices of insurance on a GSTor GSX would be, 95-99. I checked on the GS and it was around $1890 a year. I'm 16 years old and I have state farm, if anyone could give me some feedback, I'd appreciate it.

From what i've seen insurance is the same or minimal difference. Im looking to get a GS-t or GSX also but insurance in MI is kinda expensive. I'm 19 and they want about 2000$ a year.

This is absolutely ridiculous!! There is a huge post about this in the hangout a few months ago if you want to check it out. But I guarantee there is a cheaper rate (much cheaer) that all of you can find if you just search around. Different companies can very more than 1000$ a year!
My friend on hear, KrazyKorean, has just about the worst driving record you can have without getteing it suspended and he has a 96 awd that he pays like just over 200$ a month for, for full coverage and eerything. This is in Phoenix (worst state for drivers), he's 21

WTF?? Who is your insurance co? That is hella funny cause Im 21 and I was paying 174 per month on my 92 tsi awd and it just dropeed to 143$ after my ticket got dropped... Im with USAA =) Thats kinda weird eh

I am 23 with one accident.

It also depends on if you own your car or if you have a lien on it!
$80/month....progressive.

Best thing to do is ask alot more companies for a quote and also shifting your deductible. If your car is only worth (in the books) $1200 a $500 deductible for full coverage is almost pointless. Just wiegh your options.
The issurance co. will only give you the worth of your car if it is totaled.

just curious.. do you AWD guys have cheaper rates? because on my insurance.. my car is just labeled as "eclipse" no details on trim, etc, etc, etc.. i keep hearing people say its cheaper on insurance with awd.. but i dont think it has anything to do with that.. or does it..

The rating models that Farmers, Mid-Century and Progressive use group DSM's from 1996 to 1999 as sport cars, even the N/A cars. In 1995, the RS is rated seperately (read lower), but all other models are considered sport cars. GSX and GST are rated the same, although individual agents are allowed, in accordance with federal law, to apply or withhold applicable discounts. For instance, as an agent I could say that a GSX will cost you more, and simply bypass a common discount that most clients have no idea exists. The reason this is allowed is young kids with fast cars get in more accidents, and agents make less money off them.

Well my insurance co. rates the gsx higher regardless... that kinda sucks. Myabe I shoudl be looking to )=
