Cool, my mom works for allstate so i told her to check it out, just got my liscense back today after 2 racing tickets and im selling the gst next month hopefully ::crosses fingers::, then of course i want another dsm and id love a galant vr-4.:thumb:

Hey guys i have searched a bit and i havnt found to much info about this particular subject that im looking into. so heres the deal.

I go my first ticket about 4 months after getting my liscnse and it was for speeding 12 mph over.

about 3 months after having my eclipse in august i got sited for 2 things

1. NO headlights
2. Reckless Driving, and these were at the same time somewhere in september of 2003. And i lost my lisnense for 6 months as a result.

Well starting tommorrow at 9 o clock i get it back, finally and i was wondering if anyone is in this kind of situation and knows a good place to go, cheapest place i can find is 370 bucks a month liability insurance with my mom on the policy with me. im 17 btw and have a 95 gst

Ive got an idea! dont Drive like an idiot!!!! anyway. ALWAYS fight ur tickets. I was some what in the same situation, had a bad 3 months, ticket after ticket. got like 4 tickets with in 6 months, Guess what? I hired a lawyer for each one, no points, and no school.

the 2nd and third tickets were both BS, i pulled out of a parking lotat 11 at night after work with my lights off on a very well lit street and did not notice, he gave me wreckless driving cause he said that there were people out. and i was endangering them. whatever i have to deal with it now because it is done and over with, i did fight the tickets, and wrote plenty letters to the judge before she did he final ruling and was always nice about it, she did not budge one bit, it was a cops word against mine.

3/4 of the drivers on the road speed so it's just a matter of getting caught and just like everything else on this planet it's all about the money. The judge doesn't give a rats ass about whether you're innocent or guilty she just wants as much money as possible. Do you really think she views you as a major threat to society because you briefly forgot to turn your lights on? You're just another number. She feels bad that she has to convict you and you'll end up paying thousands to the already filthy rich insurance companies but once you leave that courtroom she's never going to see you again. The magistrates that deal with traffic violations hate doing it and know it's a waste of time. They want to spend as little time as possible on each case. If you hire a lawyer the odds are he can't prove you're innocent but he can cost these judges their precious time not making it worth the $200 they'd get for your 'violation' of the law. And the $300 you would spend on the lawyer will save you thousands in the years to come.

unfortunatly i am on risky drivers insurance in nj. a bulk of the reason i am is because i was involved in a bad accident 2 years ago which gave me a hefty 5 points on my insurance. then to top that off with a nice 2 point ticket for the accident gave me a nice 7 points on my insurance. then in october 03 got another 2 point ticket. went to court with a lawyer and they still would not drop it because the town wanted to "make a point that no driving violations will go unpunished in that town". so with a nice 9 points on my insurance (only have 2 on my license tho) my insurance company sent me a nice letter saying "YEAH WE'RE KICKING U OFF U CANNT GET INSURANCE FROM ANYONE ELSE EXCEPT FROM RISKY DRIVERS POOL OF NJ. HAHAHA UR SCREWED!!!!" so now i have to pay 3600 a yr until feb. next year. hey i guess you just have to learn from your mistakes sometimes.

ouch, sorry to here that. if I were you I'd start carrying around some vaseline so it wouldn' t hurt as much.

With high risk insurance there is no "good place to go" that is why you are there. You have to bend over for however long it takes for the points to drop low enough for you to get in to a normal insurance pool.

$3700 a year? Eh, a good friend of mine pays over $7500 a year. A fellow coworker is still on his parents policy (and doesn't "own" a car) for the last 12 years. Needless to say he was a little stupid when he was younger.

After totaling my mirage I damn near had to go on high risk insurance. I didn't get another car for a year and a half because the allstate guy said that by the time I turned 19 he could get me on insurance by myself without doing high risk. I passed up a couple of nice dsms in this time. Then, I'm getting close to turning 19 and the mother ####er denies ever having said that and say I'd have to be on high risk. I was about to start paying $1200 ever 6 mos to progressive for liability when my parents realized how serious I was about wanting to drive and finally budged and let me back under their insurance. Now, I'm paying $400 every 6 mos for liability.

i pay 121 a month on my mirage just liability. Hopefully my RS will be about the same when i pick it up. Might be more since its 98 though.

o yeah, ignore my name.

edit: im through American Family Ins.

Has anybody ever heard of someone putting her/her car in someone else's name, say a sister or something, then getting non-owners insurance? Is this a good or bad idea. My insurance is very high because I used to be an idiot.

This is how it works:
to do that you would have to sell your car to your sister, so she can be the owner.
she would be rated as the principle driver of the car and you as an occasional driver.
You would get cheaper insurance, but your sister insurance would increase, because all the tickets you had or what ever happened would be rated under her name, so she would pay for it.
You can't get away from your premium one way or another they will collect from you, or your sister.
The other bad side is, if you were to get another ticket, your sister is the one that will suffer.
It really gets complicated when you try do do something like that.
Let's say one day you decided to get your own insurance and leave your sister alone, your record will stay with her untill she can prove that you have insurance elsewhere, and that you are being rated for your mistakes.
Don't try to understand it, because I don't
In my opinion you have to pay the prize don't get other people involved, you'll just get pissed off at each other.
Whatever happend, now you will have to go 6 years free of accidents and tickets for your insurance to return to normal.
If there's anything you did understand E-Mail me

Well about a week or so ago I posted that my brother was in an accident in our Datsun 510 http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?postid=930554#post930554

Well we thought she had insurance and we were waiting for a call but we never recieved a phone call from anyone involving the accident. Well it turns out the lady doesnt have any insurance after all  So like I was wondering what would be the best thing to do in this type of situation. My dad told me today that we have in our insurance policy some type of policy where were insured from people that dont have any insurance for $3500. But wouldn't it be better say if We got the car fixed and then sent her to court for the amount it took to get fixed? or hmmm I just dont know what to do never really been in this type of situation. What should I do guys?

Drag her irresponsible ass out to the desert and hunt her for sport. I'm sure 510 lovers like myself would be willing to give her hell for destroying one of the last examples of an incredible car.

If you have coverage against uninsured drivers, just turn it over to your insurance company. They're supposed to handle it.

What worries me is that I'm sure they'll total out a '72 510 for $800, if that much. And my guess is that there's easily twice that in repairs there.

You definately have a case for negligence. Because the law requires insurance on vehicles, you have a reasonable expectation that the other vehicles on the road are insured; therefore, you are a "foreseeable plaintiff" in the eyes of the law. Her "breach of duty" with regards to both the fault of the accident and the expectation of insurance, satisfies the first criteria of duty, purposefully not having insurance satisfies the second criteria of "intent"; "causation", both direct and proximal is satisfied again by the direct fault in the accident and by the act of not carrying insurance and finally "damages", which in this case are obvious.
Your lawyer will work out the nuts and bolts of how this is presented but essentially, there are four criteria that must be met in order to satisfy the terms of a civil lawsuit, that is not to say that proving these guarantees you a victory; however, these are the expectations of the court.
No, I'm not a lawyer. But, I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.:D This is just a laymans opinion based on my understanding of the law, it is in no way to be construed as legal advice, just an interpretation. If it was me, I would definately sue her though. This accident will cause financial loss from multiple sources, including repairs, time, insurance rates and so on. Go for it and good luck.

i got hit by a dui with no insurance once...he even tried to run but didnt get very far.....couldnt find the way out of the neighborhood LOL...anyways...i had the uninsured driver coverage...theyll pay for it and then go back and sue the other guy for what they paid as far as i know

One of my friends got hit by an F-150. Gave new a new definition for "sport compact" A week later the same pickup hit one of my other friends, only his insurance company dropped him so she just took him to court and he was forced to pay it. But like they said, if your insurance company has coverage for people with no insurance then let them worry about it, that's what an insurance company is for.

Well this morning our insurance company called and there sending a guy out on monday morning to give us an estimate on the car. I'm also worried that they will total it and just give us enough money to fill up the gas tank haha. I also feel bad for the women just alittle becuase she is 28 years old and 7 months pregnant with her fourth kid but then again its was her fualt.

that's exactly right, the insurance company has to indemnify you (make you whole again). it is then the insurer's responsibility to get their money back from the uninsured/underinsured

Well the only reason I feel bad is becuase she started bleeding from her stomach after the accident but she did turn out to be ok.
