Um...you could start by telling us how old you are?? That kinda makes a lot of difference..any accidents, tickets..stuff like that.

Well my car was totalled by a drunk driver. Now my problem is getting paid for my car with the aftermarekt stuff that is on it. The car stock is probably worth 10 grand, and upgrades are around between 25-30k. So that's a total of 35k or so. Now the insurance offered me 20k with with all my mods. They also said if I want to buy the car back its gonna cost me 5k.
I was like "FUK THAT." So that only leaves me with 15k. So my question is would you guys take all the aftermarket stuff off and tell them to keep the car? Of course I would replace it with other stuff like stock shiit. What would you guys do? Or would it be considered insurance fraud?

You'll get 15k for your car, and then take it all off and sell the aftermarket, you'll make quite the pretty penny back.

well this happend to me awhile ago so i will give you my advice, first of all does the insurance company have the car in its posession? if not and you still have it take all the aftermarket stuff off, then just let them give you 20k and have them keep the car, then you can just sell all the aftermarket stuff. however, if you cant do that, i would still probably consider buying the car and parting it out, you can make a crap load of money, it just takes a little time and you will need somewhere to keep your car for awhile while you part it out, well i guess thats all i can say, so good luck bro:thumb:
btw sorry to here about your ride, i know how you feel

I've already bought another spyder (white with black top)and I'm planning on putting the parts that are salvagable on it. In other words if they pay me the 20k, can I still strip the car of its aftermarket stuff and replace it with other stuff(stock) and get away with it. The car is in my drive way and has already been stripped. I'm just not sure if I would get in trouble for giving them the car with no aftermarket stuff on it. Will they be looking closely for that stuff when they get the wrecked car back to their salvage yard. Just not sure if I can do this without getting in trouble with the law.

Well I don't know about your insurance company but when my friend wrecked his car we stripped that thing ral quick. We sold the wheels, the downpipe, everything. He took the turbo and didn't replace it, we took out the injectors and didn't replace em. The guy that came to pick it up just hooked it up to the tow truck and dragged it on, he didn't even ask any questions. They gave him his money.

If they said they will pay you for the aftermarket stuff and you take it all off before giving it to them, then its insurance fraud. But if the never specfically say, that the amount paid to included the aftermarkets parts, then they just opened a loop hole for it.
Even if you said, "10k?, but I have about 25k in aftermarket parts" And they go "ok, then we will give you 20k?" They never specifically said that the extra 10k was for the aftermarket parts. You could take it a replace it and if they try to do something. Then you have a fight. But most likely, they will just give the car to a junk yard, so its no biggie.....unless you get caught.

Insurance company's will only pay for after-market parts under two circumstances. If you have after-market equipment coverage or if you have itemized receipts for the parts on the vehicle.

What can you possibly have done to your car that cost 25K my supra made 702whp and i only spent just over 18k. If they are offering you 20K for your totaled dsm. You better take that 20K and run, is there a lien on the car still?
