ok, i installed a boost gauge a few weeks back and all the light was hooked up right. i then took it off this weekend to install the mounting cup. it was during the day so i didn't check the light. maybe i shorted it out somehow... now all the instrument/dash lights are out. head lights, turn signals, everything else works perfect....

where's the fuse for the instrument panel/radio area? should be as simple as that right?

thanks.

Ah, your 2g. Check your dimmer switch. A friend of mine's broke and he had to replace it. Check all your other fuses - everywhere.

Under the dash by your left foot will be a fuse panel with a 10 or 15amp fuse that reads console, i blew mine when i installed my gauges, replaced it and not it work like a charm.:thumb: Hope you solve your problem.

ok, the fuse box under the left foot has a fuse called "GAUGE", so i think this is it. but it looks just fine, no probs.

so maybe it is the dimmer switch... like g0tEclipseD said... i'll rip it open this weekend. g0tEclipseD, did you have to get a new dimmer switch? or is it fixable?

thanks.

In my case, it was the tail light fuse. I know theres someone else on this board who had the same problem and it was the dimmer switch. Check the fuses in the engine bay too. If your not sure, replace the ones that look broken or ol.d.

i ready checked based on your other email. all my other lights, from lighter, to head lights, to tail lights, to turn signals to cabin lights... are all working. seems like the dimmer might be the only possibility... or it's something really bad... hope i don't have to rip the whole dash apart... :( no more sloppy wiring jobs!

Exact same thing happened to me when i installed my boost gauge. the lighting wires crossed and shorted out the dimmer knob, also called a rheostat. cost about 80 bucks.

Zelgadis69, are you kidding me? I know I crossed the gauge wires... and I'm thinking the dimmer is blown... you saying it's not fixable and it's 80 to buy new? Shit, I'm just gonna wire that thing up and leave the lights at full brightness then... I've never dimmed it anyways...

haha... fixed it. it was indeed the dimmer... kinda stupid, isn't that why they have fuses? why go blow a $80 dimmer just because a wire crossed?

so how many of you actually use the dimmer? i've always had it on high. so i fixed it with a 1/2 inch of paper clip. just pull off the plug and tied the two wires together... dimmer don't work, but the lights are good :)
