installing new timing belt

well, i just finished bolting my motor together.. all pumped up.. i turn the key.. and it gave me the sound as if the flywheel was missing teeth and nothing happen.. so yeah.. i had my gf crank it over and i saw all the pulleys move but the timing.. so i have to throw a new one on it.. would it even be worth the time of me doing it? or should i just pay some1 to do it? and about how long does it take?

I've read that about 4 times over and still don't get it.

Are you saying that your timing belt doesn't move when cranked?

Also.... What the hell does a flywheel missing teeth sound like?
