Ok well got the trans up and a couple of bolts in. Got the fender trans mount bolts on and even the rear mount. All bolts on except the one right next to the starter. IT WONT GO IN! It looks like the bell housing is off with the engine. How can that be when i got all the other bolts in. This last bolt has been driving me crazy. Has any one ever had this problem? Any sugestions. Please help out if ya can. What problems can i look forward to if this bolt is not put on? J/W

Did you check to see if your clutch fit on the motor's spline first?? I had a big problem getting my last bolt in, I pulled the trans back out and beat the clutch onto the motor a couple times first, then put the trans back on, worked for me then.

generally you should bolt it up to the engine securly first and then connect the mounts. Are all the other engine / trans bolts tight and is the trans flush with the block? Maybe you mixed up some bolts and are using 1 that's way too long and that's why it won't go in any farther?

The coolant line bracket is gettin in the way it is not straight with the hole. IF i cant push it back, i'll have to drop it again and just cut the bracket off.

Are you sure you didnt loose the aligning dowels on the tranny? Mine fell out when I had the trans out and I had to put them back in. Just because the bolts are in doesnt mean the transmission is aligned properly.

Ok well the stupid a$$ coolant line bracket thing was in the way. Couldn't move it down so i just pulled it out and the bolt went in. Can't wait to get the car back on the street. should be done tuesday. Just waiting on one more part.

thanks for the replies. :dsm:
