Hi,

I'm in the process of installing a viper 5901 alarm on my 1995 eclipse GSX. Its my first time doing such an install, and I found a reference for the wiring, and the part that concerns me at the moment is as follows:

Door Trigger red/green - driver kick, harness to rear
Notes: To avoid the dome light delay use red/white(-) at the door open indicator at the instrument cluster. The red/white will also catch the rear hatch.
Dome Supervision use door trigger wire
Trunk/Hatch Pin red/green - driver kick, harness to rear
Notes: To avoid the dome light delay use red/white(-) at the door open indicator at the instrument cluster. The red/white will also catch the rear hatch.

My question is is the door trigger and hatch trigger the same wire? Is there a way to differentiate them?

Thanks

The door trigger and trunk trigger are seperate and you must treat them seperate.. If i recall on my viper 791xv i used the trunk wire running along the door sill which was a - input and tied that into the - input on the viper.

New Page 1 According to these guys its the same wire.. After you look up the right vehicle and read the notes** at the bottom of the page.. Unless imunderstanding you wrong or someone?

I had to add that sensor on my old 95 GS so I can incorporate the trunk feature in my 791xv.. I have the same alarm again but dont really car about the trunk showing up this time on my pager?

Like i stated above, it is NOT the same wire. I've installed a few alarms on the 2nd gen eclipse and it's not the same wire. The door trigger is connected to the dome light, and the hatch pin wire is seperate. You must wire them seperately. So when the trunk is opened the alarm see's a - input and alarm goes off showing the trunk is open.
