Installed Evo 3 16g today

O.K. I finished my evo 3 install today and I noticed that some oil is coming from the top of the turbo at the oil inlet. I knot that its coming from the threads going into the turbo. I found the same thing on the fitting at the oil return. Is there any specific thread sealer or something that I can use to solve this? Also, is there a break- in period for a new turbo?

You on a marine base? does the line have a banjo bolt or stainless line ect. Are you using the stock two bolt oil return?

Sealers usually won't work because of the extreme temperature. The best thing to do is make sure you have new crush washers on both side's on the banjo bolt. If it still leaks then you can use the liquid tephlon. Be careful not to plug the hole though.

I used the 2g install kit from turbochargers.com
I thought the banjo bolt went to the coolant lines?

With ss oil feed and two bolt return but not the stock one.

With a stainless steel line it depends where you got it from. The one I got from Slowboy is a different thread pitch that the threads on the 16g so you have to use an adapter.

Mine has an adapter also. It's leaking oil from where the adapter and feed line connect

If you use pipe thread (white tape that seals threads), you should be better off. On the oil return line (turbo end and pan end) you may still get some leaks through the pipe thread, but the leak will be so small that it practically doesn't exist.
Silicone sealant can withstand the temperature, but I'm not sure how well it'll adhere to the metal of the turbo and lines...pipe thread is probably your best bet.

And long as you prime the turbo for 15-30 seconds, you're fine. I went easy on it for a couple hundred miles, but that was more for peace of mind and to make sure everything was holding up.
