Ok the car is boosting about 14 psi at the moment. I had a talon before with a Big 16G. I know the 16g would pull harder than my 14b but is it normal for 1st gears boost to be about 10 psi and second gear at 12-13 psi and 3rd to 14psi? Cuz in the 16G it always pulled 15psi on all gears unless something is wrong.

I hooked up the MBC using the wastegate and BOV tee. Air can and j pipe nipple are covered.

also if I leave the BCS still connected to the electrical harness does that affect the car in any way?

anyway.. would it make a difference if I installed the MBC on the J pipe and wastegate?

This has been debated in other threads, I personally would be curious to find out. I got boost creep after a new mbc & fmic w/piping install. I thought my problem could have been caused by one of the following 3 reasons,

1. Increased flow due to 2.5" piping.
2. Better mbc = better spool.
3. Changing mbc pressure source from turbo outlet to bov.

I choosed to deal with it throught porting the shit out of the turbine and o2 housing but had always wondered if I could've just tapped a nipple on the new j-pipe. Why don't you do everyone and yourself a favor by changing it back to the turbo outlet from the tee off the bov line and tell us if it makes a difference, make sure you plug up the tee. I would also do a boost leak test before I go out and buy another mbc, though it still might be the mbc.
Thanks. :thumb:

Oh, to check if it's your mbc or not just bypass the mbc and connect the pressure source directly to the actuator. If it's still the same, you probably have a boost leak some where. If the problem is resolved, then you probably need a better mbc.

but would anything happen if I remove it or leave it on on my 1G?

Nothing, mine has been off for years. Make sure you plug up the nipple on the air can.

How do I check if it's my mbc or not? How do I bypass the mbc and connect the pressure source directly to the actuator. Where do I do that?

right now its connected to the BOV. I never tried connecting it to the j-pipe. Are you saying that you connected yours to the j-pipe and got boost creep?

1. Disconnect hose on mbc that comes fom bov.

2. Disconnect hose on wastgate actuator that comes from mbc.

3. Connect hose from bov to wastgate actuator.

4. Tug away the extra hose on mbc.

5. Go for a drive see if you hold same psi in all gears.

No, that wouldnt make any difference. It sounds like you have it hooked up correctly. You might want to try a different/nicer MBC...... :thumb:

I originally had mine on J pipe and had tons of problems with boost spike on every mbc i would try.

Try teeing in on the BOV-> Intake Manifold Line. I did that and didnt have any issues.

No the other away around. I no longer have a nipple on the j-pipe that came with the fmic kit. Basically, this is what I'm asking you to try:

1. Disconnect the hose on the tee near the bov which goes to the mbc..

2. Plug up the tee.

3. Unplug the nipple on j-pipe.

4. Connect the hose from 1. to the nipple on the j-pipe.

5. Go gor a drive see if it makes a difference.

oh i understand now... also if I do it like the way you said to test it out, do i need to be worried about overboosting or will it hold a constant low psi?

I used to run my vac. line off of the turbo, and now I have it to the BOV line. There was no change when switching. As long as all the lines are ran properly and all the components are functioning properly, it should not matter if you run the vac line from the j-pipe or the BOV vac. line. It is the same vac. source either way. If it did make a big difference when you switched, then you have a problem.......

no changes at all. I think its the MBC. Also does it matter if its a 16G or 14B as far as how hard the car will pull when it spools up at 15 psi?

Yeah, a 16G @ 15 PSI should pull harder than a 14B @ 15 PSI only because the 16G is a little more powerful.....

thats what I thought. A friend that claims he knows everything about DSMs said it doesnt matter that they would both pull the same. That made no sense to me...

Good, that means I didn't wast 3 weeks porting my shit for nothing. :thumb: Did you get a chance to bypass your mbc yet?
