Ok I finally got a 1g bov and now im having problems with boost spikes. I used to have my stock 2g bov which never gave me huge boost spikes like the 1g bov. Well i have the boost controller set at 10psi but when i go WOT it spikes at 15 then back to 10. I would like to set my boost at 14 but im afraid that i will spike to >17psi. Can someone tell me why im getting boost spikes now with the 1g bov? thanks

It's most likely not a problem. I have a 1G BOV and no aftermarket boost controller (can't use one in ESP in autocross). Before the 1G BOV, boost was around 14-15. After, it is around 15-16, and spikes to around 20. I've logged it with a pocketlogger and dsmlink, and everything is fine. It's been like this for 3 years.

I assume your spike is just when you first hit boost, at low RPMs like mine. The engine doesn't need that much fuel at low RPMs, even with the short boost spike.

Get a logger of some sort and see for yourself.

when i changed my 2g bov to 1g bov it spiked to 20 aswell. i found out that the turbo acuator shaft thingy was rubbing on he heat shield. i bent it back a lil and voala. solved my problem. you can try checking if the shaft moves back and forth freely :thumb:
