i just got done building my talon but i have a 3" apexi exhuast with no cat. i was wondering if anyone could do an inspection on it still. Or will i need to find a stock exhaust to put on?

emissions test as well or visual inspection? each state is different, i say put on a cat so there are no issues.

im a PA state inspector. if your exempt "drove it under 5k miles" you wont need a visual. you may be able to beat the probe without a cat, my old civic did every year. if that's the case you can hollow out a scrap cat and put that on just to get threw the visual. if you don't beat the probe you have 2 options. 1 hack up your odometer and turn it back so your exempt or 2 just get a cat and be done with it.

Yeah my county requires an emmision test. If i just found a stock exhuast and didn't hook up any emmission stuff like the charcoal cannister do you think it would pass?

ya it should as long as you don't get a super thorough inspector for the anti tampering check.

No it will not pass, you need to pass the visual. I'm sure if the tech does not look at the egr, or the canister you will pass, but if he looks and sees they are not hooked up acording to the pa inspection book it will fail.

Get to know some one and throw them 150$ and be done with it. Theres a guy down here in levittown who does it. the other thing you can do is just buy a cat and weld on some bolt on flanges and cut your exhaust add flanges to the cut pipe and bolt on the cat and then after inspection switch it back. my buddy does that with his camaro

If you think about it dude, would you rather go through the labor for putting on a stock exhaust; or paying extra money to retake an failed emissions test just saying?
