i am having crazy problems with my car sputtering at like 5 lbs of boost.

anyway, it has 2nd gen black top 450's. 1st gen fuel pressure is 36.3 psi, 2nd gen is 43.5 psi. are injectors flow rated at a standard fuel pressure? will the difference of the fuel pressure that the injectors are meant for screw with my car?

i am getting a tps code and i am going to replace it tomorrow (i have another one lying around from a newer 4g63 hyundai.)

i also ordered bpr7es plugs but they won't get here til friday . oh...i am also running 9:1 instead of 7.8:1. should i gap the plugs smaller than .028"? i am just running a 14b with the wastegate plugged right into the j-pipe nipple.

thanks in advance!

Your TPS could be the problem if it is slow to read on acceleration. Also check the resistance on your plug wires if they arent new. Look for carbon tracks on the plugs to make sure they arent arching also. The .028" gap should be about right

heh yeah i plan on getting new plug wires. probably ngk or mitsu. the one plug wire was sitting in a pool of oil on the valve cover. it's not leaking, just previous owners were slobs. its all wiped down but i bet the oil killed the wire. i guess i'll pull them off and resistance test them at least. will post back.

here are the resistance results and inches long the cord is (eyeballed)

10.5k - 24"
7.8k - 18"
5.6k - 15"
6.3k - 12"

so it seems the shortest cable has resistance that a 16" or so wire should.

btw the plugs are whitish like it is running normal. the plugs i put in are bpr6es and they are almost new. they had a bit of carbon on them when i put them in and now they turned whitish.

i have a walbro 255hp and part of trying to diagnose the problem when i unplugged the stock fpr's vac line it made no difference in how it ran. but i guess with a crappy ignition it kinda/shouldn't have made a difference? i also replace the fpr since then and unplugging that one made no difference either. i plan on getting a STM feed kit and the return kit with the fuel lab fpr. then i plan on doing the pump rewire.

tested for boost leaks last week and found the gasket for the j-pipe to turbo outlet was blown (it was homemade and when i looked at it i wondered to myself what i was thinking when i made it.) fixed that and there are no boost/vac leaks anymore.

just posting all this to help try to show how much ground i have covered.

i put on a new tps today and adjusted it to .49 volts and i got some plug wires to borrow. huge difference! there is no more hesitation anymore. it's almost there, i think plugs will finalize it. when i went to put on the new wires the #1 cylinder plug wire just let loose and the metal stayed on the plug. thank you
