Injector Voltage : High Z

Resistor Delete Plug

I measured across the #1 injector plug and am only getting 5 volts while the car is running, seems wrong with the delete plug. Shouldn't it be 12v for High Z?

Am I measuring it wrong?

Unless you have a scope your measurements are going to be a time averaged voltage. With the injector pulsing while the engine is running the voltage across the injector is going to vary between battery voltage, ground, and whatever kickback voltage is induced.

What voltage is present when the car isn't running and how are you measure it?
