Injector Question

Can someone explain to me the difference between an Evo 8 Injector & a 2G Factory injector? In terms of size difference & Price difference for a used set.

2g injector is 450cc and the evo 8 is 560cc.

Is your car an manual or an auto trans.

Ona 2g auto does not matter really..Only 1gs came with different injectors and different fuel pressures.Your manual 1g is actually flowing around 410/411 cc's of fuel rather than 450.

Because of the lower fuel pressure the 1g manual flows less.Manual 1g is 450s, auto is 390s, the evos are what 560 injectors.2g vs 1g injectos there are some differences.The 2g is a black top where 1g is blue top.The 2g injector has a dual spray pattern where the 1g is a single spray injector.

So a 2g maf, pump rewire, and evo injectors should be a bolt on upgrade, and add an auto fpr if the evo injectors was 43 psi of pressure.Bamm,should be good to go.

Interesting. I have both 2G injectors and Evo injectors in my possession and the car won't start with either. could the lack of a 2G maf & A pump rewire cause my troubles? getting 36psi according to the gauge.

On what fpr, the stock 1g manual fpr.Sounds about 2 psi low.The car should still start tho.So osmething else is funky.Have you tried another ecu, made sure everything was hooked up right..Jumped the car to make sure it's just not the battery having lower than starting cold cranking amps.

I think you may need to redo some mods back to when the car started.You know its still cold as hell out.My car doesnt start if its lower than about 35 degreez outside.Damm ac delco battery.

Edit.Ya sounds battery related, Like my battery starting issue.Heres a trick it take about 10 minutes tho.In the cold weather the car will start but you gotta trick it into starting.Heres what I do.Give her a good 2 second crank, key off, bump it,key off, bump it again, now after a couple bumps the car should be trying to start, maybe one put, and it dont start again.Back to bumping it untill it starts puting more than one time..Repeat untill you can just crank it, ans the car starts.?Yes it's a ROYAL PITA, but it does work.

ECU is def what everyone is saying. Checking it now.

I'm thinking the ECU works though since the CEL comes on and goes away when I turn the key. Also the factory boost gauge moves upon cranking

If you dont try another ecu how are you supposed to know if its as simple as the ecu?

I linked the tristate folks for a reason.Get ahold of someone close, swap the ecu,If the car starts right up,get your ecu fixed.Or if the car is not your dd, send the ecu out to be tested and possibly fixed now, in a weeek or so, you'll have your car back up and running.
