I did a boost leak test and after messing around with my couplers, I got it to where it wasn't leaking too bad. There was a lot of noise coming from the intake manifold. I investigated to find out cylinder #2's injector was leaking boost!

How do I go about fixing this?WTF

ok i dont have a turbo on yet, but i had this problem where my injector o-rings were leaking and how i went about fixing it is (unhook your negative battery terminal also after doing the fuel pump step ) with your fuel pump i had to disconnect the sensor to it and start the car and let it idle until it shuts off and there is no pressure in the lines and also so it doesnt waste alot of fuel, after that i got a few rags because when i unbolted my fuel line it still leaked, after unbolting the fuel line i unbolted the fuel rail and it came out easy for me(its a good rule of thumb when changing o-rings you might as well change them all) i got my o-rings from autozon(all 8 of then) for 4 dollars, then i simply unhooked each injector put the new orings back on, installed the injectors back in the fuel rail and intake manifold i bolted everything back up including the fuel lines plugged my pump and battery back up and i was done and its run fine ever since

Have you checked to see if there hard or broken yet? If there not bad try to put them in again. Also some guy at a shop was telling me to spray WD40 on them when the motor is warmed up.

I would recommend replacing them. For four dollars it's better to fix the problem than band-aid it. WD40 might do the trick for a while but they will leak even worse when they dry back out and taking the rail off and reusing the same o rings for that cheap of a price is not the smartest thing to do. Just replace them and be glad you did.

It's not the O-rings that are leaking if air is coming out, it's the seals.. The o-rings are at the top of the injector, and make the seal into the fuel rail. If those were leaking, fuel would be coming out, not air.

The ones that are leaking are where the injectors insert into the head. They're more of cylinders than o-rings. I think they're called "insulators".

This is true but when I worked at NAPA they were called o-rings and came with 4 o rings and 4 seals. Thanks for pointing that out though.

The thing is, I was going to get some upgrade injectors since I'm on the stock ones right now. But I wasn't going to do that until after I got DSM Link. And I don't have enough money for that right now.

What do you think about running it the way it is? Is there any damage that can be caused? Like a very rich condition in that cylinder? A/F's screwed up because of the metered air that's leaking out?

Yes it will mess with the A/F among other things. For the few bucks it's going to cost I would just replace them. You will probably lose the money in gas milage that you would spend on them anyways.

It may be leaking under vacuum too so it will run lean under vacuum and rich under boost.

You talking about $10 in parts and maybe 30 mins to replace all four.

Alright. So to start, how do I de-pressurize the system? After that, I just take off my fuel rail? Then take out the injectors from it?
Disconnect the electrical to the fuel pump and try to start the car. That will depressurize the fuel rail.
If the car has been sitting overnight it's likely not pressurized.

420Adriver pretty much coverent the process. Just be careful when you remove the three long bolts holding the rail that you don't loose the three black plastic spacers into the engine bay. The insulators may come out with the injectors or you might have to pull them out of the intake manifold.

Also, wrap a rag around the high pressure fuel line when you pull it from the fuel rail. I followed all the depressurization instructions and still got sprayed in the face with gas (almost soiled my skivies :D).

And clean the grit from around the insulators with compressed air if you have it before you do anything.

It's a total of 7 bolts if you pull the rail all the way off. If you do all o-rings and insulators, it's 6 o-rings and 4 insulators. I took a moment to clean up my injectors and rail when I did mine. Very quick job even on the first time:thumb: .
