Couldn't find a tech article on it and didn't see it on vfaq. I need some help installing injectors on my 2g.

what do you have a question on? do you know where the injectors are located? im sure you do... so whats the question?

Its kinda vague but its easy to do
1. release fuel pressure, let engine run untill it dies.
2. take off both fuel hoses from each end of the fuel rail
3. unhook vacuum line from fpr
4. unbolt the fuel rail from the intake manifold
5. unplug harness from each injectors
6. pull off fuel rail from intake manifold
7. pull off injectors
8. replace injectors
9. undo steps
Make sure to have a rag in hand just in case there is some fuel left to clean up mess.

Just on the install. I'm new to the fuel stuff. Like where everything is at? Noone has done a write-up with pics?

Ah, didn't see it. Where exactly is the fuel rail located? I'm not sure where everything is... Haven't messed with the fuel too much.

In between the head and the intake manifold. It's the long rail that's held on with 3 bolts. :thumb:

Thats not even a pic of my engine. I just got it from a website to show where the injectors are. If you look in my profile i dont have stock intercooler piping, stock injectors, or stock fuel rails. I keep my dsm clean so back off.

From your line of questioning I would suggest you find someone from a local Sacramento DSM club to help you out the first time. Changing injectors is not difficult but can be frustrating. I would be sure if I had used inj's to get new o-rings as they will seat better and make getting the rail onto them easier. First time I did mine I ended up with the clip leads under the rail instead of over it. When you pull the injectors the lower o-ring can remain in the intake and will need to be pryed out with a screw driver. You should get the idea now. You sure need to find everything and then it can become as I said "frustrating"! Mark

Please tell me you are putting in stock injectors as a replacement!

Because if you are not, i feel bad for your engine....BOOM!

Newbie tuning is not pretty.

How about you guys leave the guy with the pics alone. He was helping out. More than a useless comment of

"Your engine is Icky"

"You can't spell"

The injector replacement is about the easiest thing to do on a DSM. If you are good, you can replace them with just removing the 3 bolts and the injector clips.

Good luck and have fun.

Why would that happen? He has a larger turbo and the new injectors will only ADD fuel.

Tuning with stock injectors will lead to that result quicker than upgraded.
